Permanently Designate the Spring Holiday as Farmworkers Day - Citywide

 

Description

On September 2, 2026, Mayor Kate Gallego, Councilwoman Laura Pastor, and Councilwoman Betty Guardado submitted a request (Attachment A) to the City Manager to place an item on the September 9, 2026 Formal City Council agenda. The request is for the City Council to permanently designate the spring holiday as Farmworkers Day and to direct the City Manager to work with the employee unions to recognize the holiday on a Monday close to April 6.

 

This request is in compliance with Rule 2(c) of the Rules of Council Proceedings.
