Description
Request to authorize the City Manager, or the City Manager's designee, to execute an amendment to the Master Intergovernmental Agreement (IGA) with the Arizona Board of Regents, Arizona State University (ASU), which IGA was entered pursuant to Ordinance S-52725 and covers any ASU-affiliated research entities such as the L. William Seidman Research Institute, to add a scope and allow additional expenditures for solid waste research services supporting the Public Works Department. Further request to authorize the City Controller to disburse all funds related to this item. The additional expenditures will not exceed $25,442.

Summary
This amendment will provide additional funding for the Public Works Department to continue to partner with ASU and its L. William Seidman Research Institute to conduct a comprehensive solid waste services study. The study focuses on three key areas: evaluating the operational costs of solid waste service delivery, analyzing the impacts of service rate adjustments on customers, and developing survey methodologies to support future customer feedback efforts.

The agreement term remains unchanged.
Financial Impact
Upon approval of the additional $25,442, the revised aggregate agreement value will not exceed $91,512. Funds are available in the Public Works Department’s budget.
