Description
Request to authorize the City Manager, or the City Manager's designee, to enter into two Partner Site Agreements with the Arizona Board of Regents for and on behalf of Northern Arizona University’s Center for Service and Volunteerism to support the Arizona Health Corps and Environmental Literacy Corps AmeriCorps Programs. Further request to authorize the City Controller to disburse all funds related to this item. The total cost of these agreements will not exceed $100,000.

Summary
The purpose of these agreements is to partner with Northern Arizona University’s (NAU) Center for Service and Volunteerism to support the Arizona Health Corps and Environmental Literacy Corps AmeriCorps Programs. AmeriCorps Members will help coordinate and promote public health programs and initiatives, environmental education, and conservation projects.
The Public Health AmeriCorps Program was established in 2022 in partnership with the Centers for Disease Control (CDC) with the goal of strengthening career pathways for early career public health professionals and address community health needs. Members serve in local communities and provide essential support to public health initiatives.
The Environmental Literacy Corps (ELC) will help build resilience and address environmental issues in Phoenix communities through education, outreach, and projects.
Contract Term
The Partner Site Agreement to support the Environmental Literacy Corps AmeriCorps Program will begin with a retroactive effective date of September 17, 2026 and end on July 31, 2027. The Partner Site Agreement to support the Arizona Health Corps AmeriCorps Program will begin with a retroactive effective date of September 15, 2026 and end on July 31, 2027.
Financial Impact
The cost of the Partner Site Agreement for the Environmental Literacy Corps AmeriCorps Program will not exceed $50,000. The cost of the Partner Site Agreement for the Arizona Health Corps AmeriCorps Program will not exceed $50,000. The total cost of these agreements will not exceed $100,000.
