Maintenance and Repair of Truck, Cylinder, and Other Industrial Scales - IFB 25-SWDD-025 - Amendment (Ordinance S-53144) - Citywide

 

Description

Request to authorize the City Manager, or the City Manager's designee, to allow additional expenditures under Contract 162248 with Southwestern Scale Company, Inc. dba SWSCALE to provide maintenance and repair services for truck scales, cylinder scales, and related industrial equipment. Further request to authorize the City Controller to disburse all funds related to this item. The additional expenditures will not exceed $2,600,000.

Summary

This amendment will provide additional funding for the Public Works Department, Solid Waste Disposal Division, to continue maintenance, repair, calibration, and emergency services for scales and related systems used at City facilities.

 

Services under this contract include maintenance and repair of truck scales, tunnel scales, chlorine cylinder scales, landfill weighing systems, scoreboards, indicators, traffic control lights, gates, and other operational scale components. These services support the safe, accurate, and reliable operation of equipment at transfer stations, water treatment plants, and wastewater facilities.

 

Contract Term

The contract term remains unchanged, ending on November 30, 2029.

 

Financial Impact

Upon approval of $2,600,000 in additional funds, the revised aggregate value of the contract will not exceed $3,429,825. Funds are available in the Public Works Department’s budget.

 

Concurrence/Previous Council Action

The City Council previously approved Maintenance and Repair of Truck, Cylinder, and Other Industrial Scales Contract 162248 (Ordinance S-51495) on December 4, 2024.
