Description

Request to authorize the City Manager, or the City Manager's designee, to allow additional funds under Contract 125890 with Versaterm Public Safety Inc. for the purchase of additional Computer-Aided Dispatch (CAD)/Mobile Data Terminal (MDT) licenses and the implementation of a bi-directional interface between the Versaterm CAD system and the newly acquired 365Lab False Alarm Management System for the Police Department. Further request authorization for the City Controller to disburse all funds related to this item. The additional expenditures will not exceed $591,000.

Summary

This contract provides software used in public safety and emergency services to manage dispatching and field data. CAD allows dispatchers to manage incidents while MDT licenses enable field units to receive this data in vehicles. The Police Department requires additional CAD and MDT licenses to support its transition to a new model in which each officer is assigned an individual laptop rather than sharing devices per patrol vehicle. Additionally, implementation of the False Alarm Permit interface will facilitate automated transmission of permit status information directly into the Versaterm CAD system, which enhances operational efficiency, strengthens data accuracy, and enables the Police Department to further streamline its false alarm response processes.

 

This item has been reviewed and approved by the Information Technology Services Department.

 

Contract Term

The contract term remains unchanged, ending on June 30, 2028.

 

Financial Impact

Upon approval of $591,000 in additional funds, the revised aggregate value of the contract will not exceed $18,921,579. Funds are available in the Police Department’s budget.
