Description
Request to authorize the City Manager, or his designee, to enter into contracts with Arizona Courtlines, Inc. and Norcon Industries, Inc., to provide Basketball Backboard Preventive Maintenance and Repair Services for the Parks and Recreation Department. Further request to authorize the City Controller to disburse all funds related to this item. The total value will not exceed $350,000.

Summary
These contracts will provide preventative maintenance, inspection and repair services on motorized basketball backboard systems and gym dividers, including motors, winches, cabling and other critical safety features. The Parks and Recreation Department has 62 retractable backboards, 50 height adjusters and six mechanical gym dividers located in 14 gymnasium sites at various locations throughout the City, which will be serviced under these contracts. The basketball backboard systems and related equipment are heavily used by numerous youth and adult sports leagues and require regular maintenance and repair services to ensure their safety.
Procurement Information
An Invitation for Bid was processed in accordance with City of Phoenix Administrative Regulation 3.10. Two vendors submitted bids deemed to be responsive to posted specifications and responsible to provide the required goods and services. Following an evaluation based on price, the procurement officer recommends award to the following vendors:
Arizona Courtlines, Inc.
Norcon Industries, Inc.
Contract Term
The contracts will begin on or about October 1, 2026, for a five-year term with no options to extend.
Financial Impact
The total agreement will not exceed $350,000. Funding is available in the Parks and Recreation Department's budget.
