Description

Request to authorize the City Manager, or his designee, to amend Lease 139973 with the Transportation Security Administration (TSA) for the facility storage of canine training equipment at Phoenix Sky Harbor International Airport (PHX) by extending the term for one year with four one-year renewal options. Annual rent will be approximately $708.82 ($0.83 per square foot).

Summary

TSA is requesting to extend Lease 139973, which consists of approximately 854 square feet of land located on the PHX airfield. TSA’s use of the site shall be limited to storing canine training equipment. TSA will be responsible for all maintenance and operational costs, including electricity utilized at the site. The lease may contain such other terms and conditions as deemed necessary or appropriate by the Aviation Director.

 

Contract Term

The amended term of the lease will be one-year with four, one-year renewal options, which may be exercised by mutual agreement of the TSA and the Aviation Director.

 

Financial Impact

Annual rent will be approximately $708.82 ($0.83 per square foot). Rent will be adjusted annually by 3 percent. The total anticipated revenue over the term, if all options are exercised, is approximately $3,749.06.

This item was recommended for approval by the Phoenix Aviation Advisory Board on Aug. 15, 2019 by a vote of 6-0.
