For $22,100.00 in payment authority for a one-time purchase for E-Rate hardware, software, maintenance, and services for the Library Department. The universal service Schools and Libraries Program, commonly known as "E-rate," provides discounts of up to 90 percent to help eligible schools and libraries in the United States obtain affordable telecommunications and internet access. This E-rate project will replace obsolete network equipment at the South Mountain Library, add capacity for Intermediate Distribution Frame closets within the Burton Barr Central library, needed in part for the migration to Internet Protocol (IP) security cameras, and replace aging uninterruptible power source units at all library locations with higher capacity units that are more suitable for supporting network switches with increased power utilization from IP phones.
