Title
Uninterruptible Power Supply Equipment, Service and Maintenance - Requirements Contract - IFB 17-171 (Ordinance S-45948)
Description
Request to authorize the City Manager, or his designee, to add additional funds to Contract 145554 with Titan Power, Inc. in the amount of $200,000 to purchase Uninterruptible Power Supply (UPS) units, parts, and maintenance and repair services for the Fire Department. Further request authorization for the City Controller to disburse all funds related to this item.
Report
Summary
The UPS units are a vital component of various City services which require constant uninterrupted power. The UPS units supply power in the event of an outage, allowing continued critical operations in areas such as Citywide data rooms, water production and distribution functions and emergency communications for Public Safety Answering Points within the Maricopa County Region until the primary power source is restored.
Effective July 1, 2019, the State of Arizona Department of Administration, Grants and Federal Resources 9-1-1 Office, designated the City of Phoenix as the entity responsible to provide Regional members with uninterrupted power services used with 9-1-1 call processing equipment. The City’s increased coverage responsibility to the Region requires additional funding to ensure power equipment and service is available to each member of the Region in the event of an outage.
Financial Impact
Upon approval of the additional expenditures of $200,000, the revised aggregate value will be $2,000,000 through June 30, 2022. Funds are available in the Fire Department's budget.
Concurrence/Previous Council Action
This contract is a result of IFB 17-171, Ordinance S-43740, adopted on June 28, 2017 Formal Council meeting.
