Title

Purchase of Light and Medium Duty Vehicles - State of Arizona ADSPO17-166118 (Ordinance S-44962)

Description

Request to authorize the City Manager, or his designee, for additional payment authority for Contract 146168 with LHM Corp. for Larry H. Miller, in an amount not to exceed $2,000,000, to add Public Works to a current Public Transit Department contract to purchase light and medium duty vehicles, on behalf of various City departments. Further request authorization for the City Controller to disburse all funds related to this item.

Report

Summary

The Public Works Department will purchase light and medium duty vehicles on behalf of various departments on an as-needed basis to replace vehicles due to accidents, damage or end of useful life. There are contracts for Ford and Chevrolet vehicles, but a contract is needed to acquire Dodge vehicles, due to the varying needs of departments. Having the ability to purchase Dodge vehicles will allow the Public Works Department to maintain the fleet replacement schedule.

Procurement Information

The State of Arizona cooperative contract was awarded using a similar competitive process as set forth in Phoenix City Code, chapter 43. Use of the State of Arizona contract benefits the City due to government pricing and volume discounts that exist with the use of a cooperative agreement.

Financial Impact

Upon approval of the additional payment authority of $2,000,000, the revised aggregate value will be $3,600,000, through Oct. 31, 2022. Funds are available in various department budgets.

Concurrence/Previous Council Action

Use of the State of Arizona Contract with LHM Corp. for Larry H. Miller was approved by formal Council action on Oct. 4, 2017.
