This report requests the Land Use and Livability Subcommittee recommend City Council authorization to dispose by broker or sealed bid solicitation three properties determined by staff to be excess real estate.

Summary
Since approximately June 2014, City departments have disposed of 452 parcels consisting of approximately 231 acres, valued at more than $67.4 million. Currently, a total of 262 parcels are listed on the excess property inventory, with ongoing review of this inventory to determine the appropriate means and timing of disposal, based on various factors such as current use and market conditions. Recommended Subcommittee Actions on Excess Properties
Staff requests the Subcommittee recommend City Council authorization to dispose of three parcels, as follows:
Water Services Department
- Approximately 0.76 acres of vacant land located on South Desert Foothills Parkway north of the Loop 202 Congressman Ed Pastor Freeway, identified by assessor's parcel number (APN) 311-04-001C. The City acquired this land in 2000 for the purpose of a future water booster pump station. However, after analyzing demands, water quality and system pressures in the area, it was determined that the booster pump station was not needed. Staff recommends disposing this property via broker sale.
Street Transportation Department
- Approximately 0.62 acres of vacant land located at 1199 E. Greenway Parkway, identified by APN 214-15-025N (portion). This is a remnant from land acquired by the City in 1985 for the Camino Via Verde (Greenway Road Connector) from 19th Avenue to 32nd Street project. Staff determined that this remnant is not needed for roadway purposes and recommends disposing via broker sale or sealed bid solicitation.
- Approximately 0.73 acres of vacant land located at 3112 E. Palo Verde Drive, identified by APN 164-11-001A (portion). This is a remnant from land acquired in 1981 to extend and improve 32nd Street between Camelback Road and Lincoln Drive. As a condition of sale, a slope easement (for drainage) on the east portion will be recorded. Staff determined that the remnant is not needed for roadway purposes and recommends disposing via broker sale or sealed bid solicitation.
