Description

Request to authorize the City Manager, or his designee, to enter into a contract with Rush Truck Centers of Arizona, Inc., to purchase a paint striping truck for the Public Works Department, on behalf of the Street Transportation Department, in an amount not to exceed $497,395. Further request authorization for the City Controller to disburse all funds related to this item.

Summary

The paint striping truck will be used to maintain the City pavement marking infrastructure, as well as new builds, to maintain compliance with the City's Traffic Barricade Manual and the Uniform Traffic Control Devices. This truck will replace an aging truck that has exceeded its useful life.

 

Procurement Information

Equipment pricing was obtained from the Houston-Galveston Area Council (H-GAC) contract. The H-GAC is a regional council of governments operating under the laws of the State of Texas and the agreements cover capital intensive products and services for emergency vehicles, medium and heavy duty truck and truck bodies. The H-GAC contract was awarded on June 1, 2016, and will end on May 31, 2018. Rush Truck Centers of Arizona, Inc., is the local authorized delivering dealer of Rush Truck Centers of Texas, LP.

 

Financial Impact

The purchase shall not exceed $497,395. Funds are available in the Street Transportation Department's budget.
