Description

Request to authorize the City Manager, or his designee, to authorize additional expenditures under Contract 148743 with Fluoresco Services, LLC. Further request to authorize the City Controller to disburse all funds related to this item. The additional amount of $1.25 million is needed for the fabrication and installation of illuminated street signs for the Street Transportation Department.

Summary

This contract is used by the Street Transportation Department's Traffic Signal Shop for the fabrication and installation of various sizes of single-sided and double-sided illuminated street signs and components. Illuminated street name signs are the standard at the City's signalized intersections. The additional authorized expenditures are necessary to address needed replacement of existing illuminated street name signs that have exceeded their useful life.

 

Contract Term

The five-year contract term is Dec. 1, 2018 to Nov. 30, 2023, and is not changed.

 

Financial Impact

Upon approval of the additional $1.25 million, the revised total contract value will not exceed $7.5 million. Funds are available in the Street Transportation Department's operating budget.

 

Concurrence/Previous Council Action

The City Council approved Illuminated Street Signs Fabrication and Installation Agreement 148743 (Ordinance S-45090) on Nov. 7, 2018.
