Report
Summary
This contract will provide the testing, inspection, and repair of fire suppression and pre-action systems, including three information technology data room suppression systems located in the Phoenix Convention Center. The Phoenix Fire Code requires semi-annual testing and inspection of these systems. During this contract period, the 2A data room suppression system discharged its tank after detecting smoke from an adjacent heating coil, the first time this suppression system discharged at PCCD. The contractor informed PCCD that the refill and certification can no longer be completed in-state and costs have increased significantly, requiring additional funding to ensure compliance with The Phoenix Fire Code, provide continued safety of PCCD staff and visitors, and data room operations.
Contract Term
The contract term remains unchanged, ending on October 31, 2029.
Financial Impact
Upon approval of $175,000.00 in additional funds, the revised aggregate value of the contract will not exceed $365,000.00. Funds are available in the Phoenix Convention Center Department’s budget.
