Request to authorize the City Manager, or his designee, to convert eight temporary full-time positions to regular full-time positions in the Human Services Department. No General Fund dollars are requested to support this request; Workforce Innovation and Opportunity Act (WIOA) grant funds are available.

Summary
The request to convert the temporary positions is due to funding that was previously provided by the U.S. Department of Labor under the Strengthening Working Families Initiative Grant ending on June 30, 2021. In order to continue the delivery of free training and childcare services to City of Phoenix residents who qualify, the Human Services Department is requesting that eight temporary full-time positions be converted to regular full-time positions. See Attachment A for the positions being requested to be converted.
Financial Impact
The estimated full-year costs for these positions in Fiscal Year 2021-2022 is estimated to be $690,000. No General Fund dollars are requested to support this request; WIOA grant funds are available.
