Description
For $125,000.00 in payment authority for Contract 145545 for outreach and engagement services for persons experiencing homelessness for the Human Services Department. The services connect individuals experiencing homelessness with appropriate services and reduces the impact of unsheltered homelessness in Phoenix neighborhoods and public spaces. The Human Services Department (HSD), Public Transit Department, Police Department, and Valley Metro have worked together to develop a coordinated service model and seamless customer interface. The Police Department and the PHX C.A.R.E.S. program team work closely with Valley Metro to mitigate potential neighborhood impacts by passengers required to leave a light rail vehicle or platform. Ordinance S-44114 in 2017 authorized HSD to utilize funding made available from the Public Transit Department's operating budget in the T2050 fund.
