Report

Summary

This presentation is part four of the Phoenix Economic Overview and Update series and will highlight Downtown Phoenix as a case study of coordinated redevelopment. Investments in Valley Metro light rail, the expansion of the Arizona State University Downtown Phoenix Campus, and the growth of the Phoenix Bioscience Core, among other investments, have transformed downtown into a mixed-use district that supports employment, research, education, and residential development. These investments have helped shift Phoenix toward an “18-hour economy” where downtown functions as both an employment center and a destination for residents and visitors.
