Description
Request to authorize the City Manager, or his designee, to execute an amendment to Contract 155272 with Cubic ITS, Inc. to allow additional expenditures and extend the contract term. Further request to authorize the City Controller to disburse all funds related to this item. The additional expenditures will not exceed $70,000.

Summary
This contract upgrades the Street Transportation Department's Traffic Management Center's Synchro software licenses to version 12, including the purchase of one additional license with two years of support and maintenance, with annual renewals thereafter. The City uses Synchro to develop and update signal timing plans, conduct intersection performance evaluations and perform traffic impact analyses while ensuring compatibility with consultant-prepared studies. Upgrading to version 12 will enhance internal capabilities, reduce reliance on external consultants, improve coordination with private-sector partners and support data-driven decision-making resulting in greater accuracy, consistency and cost-effectiveness in traffic planning and operations.
This item has been reviewed and approved by the Information Technology Services Department.
Contract Term
Upon approval, the contract will be extended for five years through August 31, 2031.
Financial Impact
Upon approval of $70,000 in additional funds, the revised aggregate value of the contract will not exceed $165,000. Funds are available in the Street Transportation Department’s Capital Improvement Program budget.
