This is a one-time expenditure of $482,275. Further request authorization for the City Controller to disburse all funds related to this item.

Summary
The Public Works Department is seeking to purchase one used ladder truck on behalf of the Fire Department to replace a truck that has exceeded its projected life cycle. This purchase will allow the Fire Department to reallocate achieved savings to replace other aged emergency response vehicles required to support operations. This purchase will also reduce the wait time for a new truck to be built, which has been on average one year.
Procurement Information
In accordance with Administrative Regulation 3.10, normal competition was waived as a result of a determination memo citing sole source. Hughes Fire Equipment is the sole authorized dealer in the State of Arizona for Pierce Manufacturing equipment.
This item needs to be procured by the end of January 2020 to meet the purchasing deadline from the vendor and save the City approximately $700,000.

Upon Council approval, for the one-time purchase of a ladder truck.
Financial Impact
Expenditures will not exceed $482,275. Funds are available in the Fire Department's budget.
