Request to authorize the City Manager, or his designee, to allow additional expenditures under Contract 134295 with Municipal Emergency Services, Inc. for parts and services provided by certified technicians for the Phoenix Fire Department (PFD) in the amount of $400,000. Further request authorization for the City Controller to disburse all funds related to this item.

Summary
The Self Contained Breathing Apparatus (SCBA) contract was established to provide the PFD complete SCBA sets, replacement parts and services provided onsite by certified technicians. The current model of the SCBA has been discontinued by the manufacturer, however the parts for these sets are still available. PFD must repair and maintain approximately 1,000 SCBA sets. The additional funding will cover maintenance, repairs, and parts which are a critical part of the Fire Department's efforts to provide life safety services to the public. The PFD is working on the specifications for the new SCBA sets.
Contract Term
The contract term is July 30, 2012 through July 31, 2022.
Financial Impact
Upon approval of $400,000 in additional funds, the revised aggregate value of the contract will not exceed $6,625,000. Funds are available in the Fire Department's budget.
