Solid Waste Container Washing Services Contract Recommendation (Ordinance S-44213)

 

Description

Request to authorize the City Manager, or his designee, to enter into a contract with Dirty Trash Bins, LLC, to provide solid waste container washing services. Authorization is requested in an amount not to exceed $85,000 over the life of the contract. Further request authorization for the City Controller to disburse all funds related to this item.

Summary

This contract will provide weekly offsite washing and/or repairs of solid waste containers used to collect refuse, recycling, and green organics. This contract is essential to maintain customer satisfaction and ensure prompt turnaround times of container washing and/or repairs.

 

Procurement Information

An Invitation for Bid 18-SW-031 solicitation was conducted in accordance with Administrative Regulation 3.10. Five offers were received by the City on Oct. 25, 2017. The offers were evaluated based on responsiveness to all specifications, terms and conditions, and lowest bid. The offers for Solid Waste Container Washing Services are as follows:

 

Offer Per Container:

Dirty Trash Bins, LLC:  $2.50

CDSRVS, LLC:  $3.50

AZ Power Wash Pros, LLC:  $7.65

Can Clean Pros, LLC:  $9.75

Go Streakfree Services, LLC:  $14.00

 

Contract Term

The initial one-year contract term will begin on or about Feb. 1, 2018, and end on Jan. 31, 2019. Provisions of the contract may include an option to extend the term up to four years, in increments of up to one year, which may be exercised by the City Manager or designee.

 

Financial Impact

The aggregate contract value will not exceed $85,000, with an estimated annual expenditure of $17,000. Funds are available in the Public Works Department's budget.
