Summary
The FY 2016-21 Public Art Project Plan includes a project to involve the artist with City departments and the community to design pedestrian enhancements for 107th Avenue between Indian School and Camelback roads.
This artist was recommended for this project through a competitive process in November 2014. City Council approved the design contract on Dec. 17, 2014. Since then, the artist team has worked closely with City departments and the community to design enhancements, including shade and seating. The amendment will enable the team to expand its scope of work to design and engineer additional shade structures and seating as part of the streetscape enhancement.
Financial Impact
The 107th Avenue Public Art Project is one of 51 projects in the FY 2016-21 Public Art Project Plan approved by City Council on June 1, 2016. The Art Plan includes $420,547 for this project. The proposed $14,000 amendment would increase the current contract from $30,000 to $44,000, which includes all costs related to designing the artwork.
