Report

Summary

The City has operated and maintained a public safety communications facility at the ASU West campus since Aug. 20, 2010. Under a 10-year license with ASU, the City was obligated to pay an annual license fee of $20,000 beginning in 2010 and escalating three percent per year. ASU requested to use the City-owned antenna facilities for public safety purposes in exchange for waiving the annual license fee. The license was amended on May 17, 2013 to extend the term for an additional 10-year period, through Aug. 19, 2030, and to waive the license fee beginning 2013. The license amendment resulted in a savings of $167,460 to the City.

Contract Term

The contract term is extended for 10 years, through Aug. 19, 2030.

Financial Impact

The annual license fee is waived.
