Temporary Attorney Staffing Support Contract - Direct Agreement - Request for Award (Ordinance S-53185) - Citywide

 

Description

Request to authorize the City Manager, through the City Attorney, to enter into a contract with Axiom Global, Inc. dba Axiom Law to provide temporary attorney staffing for the Law Department. Further request to authorize the City Controller to disburse all funds related to this item. Also request exceptions to Phoenix City Code Sec. 42-18 to authorize the inclusion of indemnification and/or liability limitations in the contract that would otherwise be prohibited. The total value of the contract will not exceed $300,000.

Summary

This contract will provide temporary attorney staffing to the Law Department while the Department fills multiple attorney vacancies through open recruitments. The contract is necessary to continue Law Department support to various City Departments.

 

Procurement Information

Legal services are exempt from the requirements of AR 3.10. Regardless, the Law Department conducted an informal procurement and identified Axiom Global, Inc. as the vendor best suited to meet the Department's and City's needs.

 

Contract Term

The contract will begin on or about September 9, 2026, for a one-year term, with an option to extend the term for an additional year, which may be exercised in the City's sole discretion.

 

Financial Impact

The total value of the contract will not exceed $300,000. Funds are available in the Law Department's budget.
