The following amendments to the combined Classification and Pay Ordinance (S-51144) are proposed in accordance with the recommendation of Human Resources Committee 631, to be effective on February 3, 2025.

 

Retitle the classification of Park Ranger III, Job Code: 40120, Salary Plan: 001, Grade/Range: 046 ($35,984 - $78,541/annual), Labor Unit Code: 007, Benefit Category: 007, EEO-4 Category: Protective Service Non-Sworn, FLSA Status: Nonexempt to Job Title: Park Ranger Supervisor.

 

Retitle the classification of Park Ranger II, Job Code: 40130, Salary Plan: 001, Grade/Range: 040 ($32,635 - $67,850/annual), Labor Unit Code: 007, Benefit Category: 007, EEO-4 Category: Protective Service Non-Sworn, FLSA Status: Nonexempt to Job Title: Park Ranger.

Summary

The Classification and Compensation study was implemented rapidly to address a systemic staffing and labor market crisis throughout the City. Adjustments to grade and salary ranges are necessary as the City adapts to the new pay structures that took effect on August 7, 2023. These recommendations balance internal alignment with external market focus. As a result of the changes made during the Classification and Compensation study, staff requests that the adjustments listed above be approved.

Concurrence/Previous Council Action

On December 19, 2024, Human Resources Committee 631 reviewed and recommended these modifications for approval effective on February 3, 2025.
