Description
Request to authorize the City Manager, or his designee, to enter into a contract with Phoenix Pumps, Inc. to provide McLanahan pumps, impellers, and replacement parts for the Water Services Department. Expenditures are not to exceed $900,000 over the life of the contract. Further request authorization for the City Controller to disburse all funds related to this item.

Summary
The Deer Valley Water Treatment Plant treats surface water to produce potable drinking water for the City of Phoenix through a sand ballasted flocculation process. The treatment process pumps settled liquid and solids mixed with silica sand to a sand separator. McLanahan Pumps and replacement parts are utilized in this process, and this contract will provide the pumps and pump parts necessary for water treatment.
Procurement Information
In accordance with Administrative Regulation 3.10, normal competition was waived as the result of a determination memo citing that there is only one source for these essential parts and accessories. Phoenix Pumps, Inc. is the sole provider of McLanahan parts in Arizona.
Contract Term
The contract will be for six years, effective on or about Sept. 17, 2018 with an end date of Sept. 16, 2024. There are no options to extend the contract.
Financial Impact
Parts will be ordered on an as-needed basis. Expenditures are not to exceed $900,000 over the life of the contract. Funds are available in the Water Services Department's operating budget.
