Description

Request to authorize the City Manager, or his designee, to enter into a contract with Siemens Industry, Inc. for the maintenance, inspection and repair of the fire sprinkler system at the Phoenix Convention Center and Venues. The aggregate contract value will not exceed $375,000 for inspections and maintenance and as-needed repairs. Further request authorization for the City Controller to disburse all funds related to this item.

Summary

This contract is necessary to ensure the safety and protection of guests and employees at the Phoenix Convention Center and Venues. The contract will provide periodic scheduled inspection, testing, maintenance visits, and as-needed repair services for the fire sprinkler systems to protect against any fire-related events. These services are required in order to maintain code compliance at all times.

 

Procurement Information

IFB 19-038 was conducted in accordance with Administrative Regulation 3.10. There were two offers received by the Procurement Division on Oct. 26, 2018. Following are the lowest-priced offers which represent the total annual cost for inspections and maintenance in all facilities.

 

Siemens Industry, Inc.  -  $52,250

Cintas Corporation -  $82,980

 

The Deputy Finance Director recommends that the offer from Siemens Industry, Inc. be accepted as the lowest-priced, responsive and responsible offer.

 

Contract Term

The five-year contract term will begin on or about Dec. 17, 2018.

 

Financial Impact

The aggregate contract value will not exceed $375,000 for inspections and maintenance and as-needed repairs. Funds are available in the Phoenix Convention Center Department's budget.
