Summary
The Aquatic Consulting and Testing Services contract is necessary to continue refining wastewater discharged from the 91st Avenue Wastewater Treatment Plant, while providing for wetland, riparian, and wildlife habitat in a safe and permit-compliant manner. The services provided by this contract are required to maintain compliance with Maricopa County Vector Control. Extension of the current contract prevents a service disruption for Mosquito Monitoring and Mitigation Services at the Tres Rios Wetlands facilities and allows time to complete the solicitation process for award of a new contract.
Contract Term
The contract extension will be for one year, effective Aug. 1, 2017, through July 31, 2018.
Financial Impact
Funds in the amount of $150,000 are available in the Water Services Department’s operating budget.
Concurrence/Previous Council Action
This contract is a result of a Statement of Qualifications awarded by Council action on July 3, 2012, for an annual amount of $150,000, and an end date of July 31, 2017.
