Civilian Hiring Update

On March 2, the City Council approved Civilian Investigator and Police Assistant positions to help alleviate sworn staffing challenges. Once these positions were posted, there was an overwhelming response in the number of applicants.

  • Civilian Investigator: 960 total applicants; 680 met minimum requirements
  • Police Assistant: 201 total applicants

For both position classifications, interviews are underway and staff is working diligently to get new hires on-boarded as quickly as possible.
