Salt River Project Design and Construction Agreement for Aquifer Storage and Recovery Well 304 (Ordinance S-47145)

 

Description

Request to authorize the City Manager, or his designee, to enter into a contract with Salt River Project (SRP) for design and construction services for the aquifer storage and recovery well 304 located at Deer Valley Water Treatment Plant, in an amount not to exceed $66,000. Further request authorization for the City Controller to disburse all funds related to this item. Further request the City Council to grant an exception pursuant to Phoenix City Code 42-20 to authorize inclusion in the documents pertaining to this transaction of indemnification and assumption of liability provisions that otherwise would be prohibited by Phoenix City Code 42-18.

Summary

The contract with SRP is for design and construction for installation of a 2500KVA transformer and a 2400/4160v service for the well located at the Deer Valley Water Treatment Plant, for the Water Services Department. This new transformer and service is needed to power the new well.  SRP responsibilities under this contract include installation of the new transformer and service including purchase of equipment, design and construction.

 

Contract Term

The contract term is for two years, beginning on or about Dec. 1, 2020 through Dec. 1, 2022.

 

Financial Impact

The contract value will not exceed $66,000, including all subconsultant and reimbursable costs.

 

Funding is available in the Water Services Department's Capital Improvement Program budget. The Budget and Research Department will separately review and approve funding availability prior to execution of any amendments. Payments may be made up to agreement limits for all rendered agreement services, which may extend past the agreement termination.
