Description
Request to authorize the City Manager, or his designee, to enter into an agreement with Metrohm USA, Inc., to provide parts, maintenance, and repair services for Metrohm ion chromatography instruments, which are owned and operated by the Water Services Department (WSD). Further request to authorize execution of amendments to the agreement as necessary within the Council-approved expenditure authority as provided below, and for the City Controller to disburse all funds related to this item not to exceed $400,000.

Summary
The purpose of this contract is to provide WSD with parts, maintenance, and repair services for Metrohm ion chromatography instruments to ensure proper functionality. The Metrohm ion chromatography instruments are used by WSD laboratory technicians to perform analytical tests on treated water samples. These analytical tests are performed to ensure that the water treatment process is in compliance with Federal and State regulations.
Metrohm USA, Inc.'s services include but are not limited to: providing parts, maintenance, and repair services for the Metrohm ion chromatography instruments.
Procurement Information
The selection was made using a direct selection process set forth in City of Phoenix Administrative Regulation 3.10. The direct selection is necessary because Metrohm USA, Inc. is the original equipment manufacturer of the Metrohm ion chromatography instruments, and is the only authorized contractor that can provide parts, maintenance, and repair services.
Contract Term
The term of the agreement is seven years and will begin on July 1, 2020.
Financial Impact
The agreement value for Metrohm USA, Inc. will not exceed $400,000. Funding is available in the Water Services Department's operating budget.
