Summary
The Municipal Court will provide an update on plans to enhance organizational structure, community engagement, and judicial accessibility. Key operational updates include the appointment of a new Assistant Presiding Judge and the addition of a Civil Hearing Officer position to support expanded responsibilities. The Court will highlight outreach efforts to strengthen partnerships, increase public awareness of services, and training opportunities across local agencies and institutions. In addition, the Court hopes to be able to establish a new specialty court to improve victim safety, increase offender accountability, and coordinate services more effectively in cases of domestic violence. The Court wishes to expand use of remote and hybrid hearings to further improve access and efficiency across multiple case types. Finally, the Court will provide a progress update on efforts to modernize the Court’s 30-year-old case management system.
