Description

Request to authorize the City Manager, or his designee, to enter into a contract with LSW Engineers, Inc., to conduct ventilation assessments at Phoenix City Hall, Phoenix City Council Chambers, and 620 Police Headquarters. The contract will have a one-time expenditure of $19,405. Further request to authorize the City Controller to disburse all funds related to this item.

Summary

The Public Works Department is responsible for the ongoing maintenance of heating, ventilation and air conditioning systems in multiple City-owned buildings. In response to the COVID-19 pandemic, ventilation assessments will inspect and review the current systems to identify ways to improve indoor air quality and recommend best practices. These assessments will help ensure the safety of employees and visitors entering and occupying these structures. The assessments will be conducted at Phoenix City Hall, Phoenix City Council Chambers, and 620 Police Headquarters.

 

Procurement Information

In accordance with Administrative Regulation 3.10, normal competition was waived as the result of a determination memo citing time restrictions due to the COVID-19 pandemic and associated funding.

 

Contract Term

This contract will begin upon City Council approval on Feb. 3, 2021, for the one-time purchase of the ventilation assessments.

 

Financial Impact

This contract will have a one-time expenditure amount of $19,405, including applicable taxes. Funds are available in the Public Works Department's budget.
