Summary
The City of Phoenix HSD administers the Eviction Legal Services program aimed at providing legal assistance to eligible tenants experiencing a current or former eviction crisis. This program is designed to support housing stability by offering legal services to prevent evictions or remedy a former eviction. Through partnering with legal services providers, the program is able to provide the following services at no cost to tenants:
- Limited or full legal representation in court for eviction proceedings;
- Provide mediation services to tenants potentially facing eviction; and
- Post-eviction services to address possible impediments to future renting opportunities.
The presentation will include service details, key statistics, and outreach efforts of the Eviction Legal Services program.
HSD continues to assess program efficacy while exploring additional funding opportunities.
HSD remains committed to supporting residents experiencing evictions with the aim to support long-term housing stability for individuals and families.
