Levi, Ray & Shoup, Inc. is the service provider for the City's pension administration system and manages the pension benefit process for all City of Phoenix public safety and general employees. The costs are for the public safety portion of the system. The increased spending authority is necessary as the annual maintenance costs for the system are dependent on many factors, such as the number of active and retired employees, and the basic system support that is required. The annual maintenance costs were approved by the Phoenix Fire and Police Local Retirement Boards at the Oct. 1, 2019, board meeting.
