Acquisition of Real Property for a Pedestrian and Bicycle Path along the Grand Canal between 47th and 75th Avenues (Ordinance S-49212)

 

Description

Request to authorize the City Manager, or his designee, to acquire all real property and related property interests required by donation, purchase within the City's appraised value, or by the power of eminent domain for a pedestrian and bicycle path along the Grand Canal between 47th and 75th avenues. Further request to authorize dedication of land with roadway and/or public improvements to public use for right-of-way purposes via separate recording instrument. Additionally request to authorize the City Controller to disburse all funds related to this item.

Summary

Acquisition of real property is required to accommodate a new pedestrian and bicycle path along the Grand Canal between 47th and 75th avenues. Improvements include lighting, landscaping and six High-Intensity Activated Crosswalk (HAWK) signals to enhance user safety.

 

The parcels affected by this project are identified in Attachment A.

 

Financial Impact

Funding is available in the Street Transportation Department's Capital Improvement Program budget.
