Description

Request to authorize the City Manager, or his designee, to execute amendments to Agreement 161410 with Desert Fire Services, LLC, a disregarded entity of Nora Cizek-Peyton and Agreement 161703 with RCI Systems LLC, a disregarded entity of National Fire & Safety, Inc. to provide additional funding to the agreements. Further request to authorize the City Controller to disburse all funds related to this item. The additional expenditures included will not exceed $659,868.

Summary

The purpose of the amendments are to provide additional funding for the continued inspection, testing, maintenance, and repair of fire life safety systems located throughout Water Services Department facilities. Services including, but are not limited to, fire alarm systems, sprinkler systems, and hydrants. This funding will help ensure continued compliance with applicable fire and life safety requirements while maintaining reliable operation of critical Water Services facilities.

 

Contract Term

The terms of the agreements remain unchanged, ending on September 30, 2029.

 

Financial Impact

The initial authorization for Fire Life Safety Systems Inspection Testing and Repair was for an expenditure not to exceed $1,320,000. This amendment will increase the authorization by an additional $659,868 for a new aggregate value not to exceed $1,979,868.

 

Funds are available in the Water Services Department's Operating budget.

 

Concurrence/Previous Council Action

The City Council previously approved:

  • Fire Life Safety Systems Inspection Testing and Repair Agreements 161410 and 161703 (Ordinance S-51259) on September 18, 2024.
