Report
Summary
The Phoenix Police Department is partnering with the PUHSD to implement the C3 and DRAGG Phoenix, an innovative after-school program that will facilitate and encourage Phoenix police officers, educators and professionals from the automotive industry to mentor and empower local high school students to make positive life choices. Students participating in the program will learn basic skills critical to working in the automobile industry through a curriculum that will blend courses in automotive repair and creative car customization. Throughout the year, students enrolled in the C3 and DRAGG Phoenix program will also be involved in various community outreach projects with the goal of fostering a sense of civic pride and neighborhood ownership.
The program will be launched at Trevor Browne High School during the current school year. The student selection process is expected to take place in late December 2017, with classes beginning in early January 2018. At the completion of the agreement term, the program will be evaluated to determine if another agreement will be put in place.
