Report

Summary

The Water Services Department completed a study to determine how to supplement the water system in the event of restrictions placed on Colorado River water delivered through the Central Arizona Project. The study looked at alternatives and recommended several major upgrades to the water system, including a new booster pump station near 32nd Street and Bell Road. Acquisition of a site is required for a proposed booster pump station to address potential shortfall in the areas served by the Union Hills and Lake Pleasant Water Treatment plants in the event of restrictions. The proposed booster pump station will allow water to be moved from the 24th Street Water Treatment Plant to water infrastructure in north Phoenix to supplement and provide resiliency for the water system.

The property to be acquired in full is located at 16811 N. 31st St. and identified by Maricopa County Assessor Parcel 214-31-006A.
