Description
Request to authorize the City Manager, or the City Manager's designee, to enter into a contract with Saf-T-Gard International, Inc. to provide testing services for electrical protective equipment. Further request to authorize the City Controller to disburse all funds related to this item. The total value of the contract will not exceed $227,000.

Summary
This contract will provide testing, certification, and documentation services for high-voltage electrical personal protective equipment (PPE), including gloves, sleeves, and blankets. Services will include shipping coordination using contractor-provided prepaid UPS labels, inspection, electrical testing, repairs, drying, final inspection, packaging, and return delivery to various City of Phoenix locations.
Testing of electrical protective equipment is required by the OSHA standard, 29 CFR 1910.137, which establishes initial and periodic testing requirements for insulating gloves, sleeves, blankets, and other electrical protective equipment. Staff in the Public Works and Water Services departments rely on properly tested and maintained electrical protective equipment to safely perform their job duties.

An Invitation for Bid procurement was processed in accordance with City of Phoenix Administrative Regulation 3.10.
