Due to an ongoing Attorney General review of possible Open Meeting Law violations related to the May 12, 2026 executive session, and out of an abundance of caution, the City Council is ratifying the formal action taken at the May 12, 2026 special meeting to appoint Judge Wilbur N. Hudson as the Chief Presiding Judge of the Phoenix Municipal Court. A.R.S. 38-431.05 requires ratification at a “public meeting within thirty days after discovery of the violation.” On September 25, 2026, the City was made aware of possible violations of the Open Meeting Law. Because this was a formal action, there are no further written descriptions of the action to be ratified.
